Our Italian Heritage, From Garden to Table

Though the halcyon days of Erie’s Little Italy have passed, a large population of West Erie’s Italian families keep its traditions alive. Partnering with the Sisters of St. Joseph, we created a mural using vintage and present day photographs of its residents. A common theme in many of our pieces is that change is cyclical. New immigrants of different nationalities now reside in the old Neapolitan corridors passing on new traditions to younger generations alongside the tight-knit Italian community.
