Sungate is a gift to the Our West Bayfront neighborhood by patrons and former residents Marco and Betsy Monsalve.  The Looking Glass team of Tom Ferraro and Ed Grout along with Erie based artist, Ron Bayuzick, designed this unique archway to mark the entry point of the bike/ pedestrian path leading from the neighborhood to Erie’s bay front.  Sungate was designed to capture movement of the waves of Lake Erie and the magnificent sunsets seen from the bluffs overlooking the bay.  Design cues follow the motif of two murals created by Tom and Ed during a long term residency at Strong Vincent Middle School.   The artist team worked with fabricator, Dave Davis, owner of Gene Davis Sales and Services to complete the piece.
